Hebrew :
The english word "seed" is from the Hebrew word "zera" which means "seed, fruit, plant, posterity", from "zara" meaning "bear, conceive seed".
Polish :
variant of zyra 'food', from an old Polish compound name such as Zyroslaw (from zyr 'food' + slawa 'glory') or Doma'zyr (from doma 'home' + zyr 'food').
